Welsh gold from the Clogau St. David’s gold mine was used to make the wedding ring for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s  marriage to The Duke of Edinburgh on 20th November 1947. Welsh gold was also used for the wedding ring in 2011 for Catherine Middleton’s marriage to Prince William.
